Larissa Garcez, LMSW

Larissa is a bilingual Portuguese/English-speaking social worker who earned her Master’s degree from Hunter College and has been working as a licensed therapist since 2018. She has experience working with all age groups, both individually and in a group therapy setting.  

Her professional experiences include working in inpatient and outpatient facilities with culturally and ethnically diverse populations. Larissa has experience integrating a variety of techniques in the treatment of individuals experiencing PTSD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, BPD, schizophrenia, and ADHD.

Larissa utilizes a person-centered approach and develops a treatment plan that reflects the mental health goals of each client. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness techniques to help clients achieve their goals. Larissa believes it is important to develop a positive therapeutic relationship with each client, and in fostering a safe space for them to talk about their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
