Lisa Maksimyadis, M.S.
Lisa holds an Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Rochester, an M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Mercy College and an M.S. in Special Education from Central Connecticut State University. With specialized training in trauma-informed care, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Play Therapy techniques, she tailors therapy to the developmental level, using play-based interventions to help them process emotions, reduce anxiety, and improve behavior.
As a Certified Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL), Lisa also has worked with equine-assisted therapy for those who benefit from experiential, hands-on approaches to emotional growth. As a Veteran of the United States Army, she has extensive experience working with fellow Veterans as well as neurodiverse children, including those with autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and sensory processing challenges.
Lisa strives to create a positive environment for children, teens, and adults to foster a wonderful growing relationship with every client.
